Enchiridion — Terms and Conditions
Version 1.2 · Effective 27 September 2026
These Terms and Conditions ("Terms") are a binding agreement between you and Hikma Akinfunmilola Atanda ("Enchiridion", "we", "us"), the provider of the Enchiridion mobile application and the website at https://www.enchiridion.site (together, the "Service"). By ticking "I agree" at sign-up, or by using the Service, you accept these Terms and our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not create an account and do not use the Service.
1. What Enchiridion is — and what it is not
Enchiridion is a study companion for medical training: textbooks, clinical calculators, instrumentation guides, OSCE stations, and exam-preparation modules with spaced repetition (PLAB is available now; USMLE, PRIMARIES, MCCQE, AMC, NZREX, PRES, SMLE, and MDCN are marked coming soon and are not included until released).
Enchiridion is an educational aid. It is not a medical device, not a diagnostic tool, and not a substitute for professional clinical judgement, supervision, or local protocol. Content — including calculator outputs, drug-related figures, and exam explanations — may contain errors, may be out of date, and is not patient-specific. You are solely responsible for any clinical decision you make. Always verify against authoritative sources and your institution's protocols, and act within your scope of practice and supervision. Never use the Service to make a decision about a real patient without independent verification.
If you believe content is wrong or unsafe, report it through the in-app flag tool or email support@enchiridion.site.
2. Eligibility
You must be at least 18 years old to create an account and to make any payment. The Service is intended for medical students and healthcare practitioners. By registering, you confirm you meet these requirements and that the information you give us is accurate.
3. Your account
- You register with a valid email address and verify it with the code we send you.
- You choose a display name and a role (student, clinician, or other). You may add a profile photo.
- You are responsible for keeping your password confidential and for everything done under your account. Tell us immediately at support@enchiridion.site if you suspect unauthorised use.
- One account is bound to one primary device. You may authorise a different device, subject to a cooldown period of 30 days between switches. This exists to prevent account sharing.
- Accounts are personal. You may not sell, share, rent, or transfer your account or your access.
4. Free tier
Without paying you may: read the first chapter of each book, use one calculator per category, and answer a limited number of free practice questions per exam module (currently 10 for PLAB). Free-tier content you have opened, together with your notes and bookmarks, remains available offline. We may change what the free tier includes.
5. Paid access
Paid access unlocks the content described on the purchase page at the time you buy. Two shapes of purchase exist:
(a) One-time Premium period. On our website you can pay once for a single monthly or yearly Premium period. It does not renew; when the period ends, your account reverts to the free tier until you buy again.
(b) Auto-renewing subscription. See §6.
All prices are shown in Nigerian naira (₦) inclusive of any applicable tax and of Enchiridion's own payment-processing charges, before you pay. Prices may change; a change never applies to a period you have already paid for, and for subscriptions we will notify you as set out in §6.5. Charges your own bank or card issuer levies independently are outside our control.
Where you can buy Premium. Premium is one subscription with the same benefits wherever you buy it, and it follows your Enchiridion account:
- In the Android app, purchases are made through Google Play Billing. Google Play shows the price in your local currency, takes the payment, and its own terms apply to that payment.
- On our website (https://www.enchiridion.site/premium), payments are processed by Flutterwave. Your use of Flutterwave's checkout is also subject to Flutterwave's own terms.
Enchiridion never receives or stores your card or bank details. Access is granted only after our server independently verifies the payment with Google Play or Flutterwave. Altered, replayed, pending, or unverifiable payments grant nothing, and one purchase can be linked to only one Enchiridion account.
6. Auto-renewing subscriptions
Read this section carefully — it describes a recurring charge.
6.1 What you are agreeing to. When you choose an auto-renewing plan, you authorise the provider you bought through (Google Play or, on our website, Flutterwave) to charge the plan price automatically at the start of each billing period, until you cancel. On the website the plans are ₦1,500 monthly or ₦15,000 yearly; in the app, the price Google Play displays at checkout applies. The plan, price, and billing interval are shown before you pay and confirmed afterwards. A website purchase can instead be made as a one-time payment for a single period that does not renew.
6.2 Renewal. Your subscription renews automatically at the end of each billing period for another period of the same length, at the then-current price, unless you cancel before the renewal date. Your renewal date is shown in the app under Profile → Subscription and on the website under your account.
6.3 How to cancel. You can cancel at any time, with no cancellation fee:
- bought in the app: in your Google Play account (Play Store → Payments and subscriptions → Subscriptions). Profile → Subscription → Manage in Google Play opens it for you;
- bought on the website: from your account page at https://www.enchiridion.site/account/subscription;
- in either case, by emailing support@enchiridion.site from your registered address.
Cancellation stops future charges. It takes effect at the end of the period you have already paid for: you keep Premium until that date, then revert to the free tier. Cancelling does not delete your account or your study data.
6.4 Failed payments. If a renewal charge fails, the provider retries it for a period set by that provider (Google Play may keep Premium available during a short grace period). If it still fails, the subscription lapses and your access reverts to the free tier. You can resubscribe at any time.
6.5 Price changes. If we change the price of your subscription, we will tell you by email at least 30 days before the change takes effect, together with the date it applies and how to cancel. For Google Play subscriptions, Google Play will also notify you and, where its rules require, ask for your consent. If you do not cancel before that date, the new price applies from your next renewal.
6.6 One subscription at a time. Premium is the same whichever way you buy it, so we block starting a second recurring subscription while one is active on your account. Switching plans takes effect from your next renewal date unless the purchase screen says otherwise.
7. Refunds
Digital access is delivered immediately, so payments are non-refundable once access has been granted, except:
- where a refund is required by Nigerian consumer protection law or other applicable mandatory law;
- where a payment was taken in error (for example a duplicate charge, or a renewal charged after you cancelled); or
- where a fault on our side prevented you from using paid access for a substantial part of the period, and we could not fix it.
To request a refund, email support@enchiridion.site with your registered email address and the payment reference within 30 days of the charge. We aim to respond within 5 business days. Refunds for website purchases are made to the original payment method. Purchases made through Google Play are also covered by Google Play's refund policies; you can request a refund from Google Play directly, and a refunded Google Play purchase ends the Premium access it paid for.
8. Your content and conduct
You are responsible for anything you submit: your display name, profile photo, notes, and question flags.
You must not:
- choose a display name that impersonates another person, is offensive, or is misleading (duplicate display names are rejected at registration);
- upload a profile photo that is unlawful, obscene, hateful, violent, or infringes anyone's rights;
- upload content that identifies a real patient or discloses confidential clinical information;
- copy, record, scrape, resell, sublicense, or systematically extract Service content, in whole or in part;
- share your credentials or use another person's account, or work around device binding, the paywall, or free-tier limits;
- reverse-engineer, decompile, or tamper with the app, the API, or the payment flow, except where that right cannot be excluded by law;
- upload malware, or disrupt, overload, or attack the Service;
- use the Service to give medical advice to others as though it were authoritative.
We may remove content that breaches these Terms, and suspend or terminate accounts that do. To report content or behaviour that breaches these Terms, use the in-app flag tool or email support@enchiridion.site. We aim to review reports within 5 business days.
9. Leaderboard
If you use the exam-preparation modules, your display name and total points are visible to other signed-in users on the leaderboard. Choose a display name you are comfortable showing publicly. You can change your display name in your profile.
10. Intellectual property and third-party material
The app's software, calculators, original text, and layout are © 2026 Hikma Akinfunmilola Atanda and are protected by copyright and other laws. Paying grants you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable licence to access and use that material for your own study for as long as your access lasts. It does not transfer ownership and does not permit reproduction, redistribution, public display, teaching from the material commercially, or use to train machine learning models.
Third-party material. Some images and practice questions in the Service were gathered from third-party sources and are not owned by us. They remain the property of their respective owners, are included for educational purposes, and are not covered by the licence above. We claim no ownership of them, and you must not reproduce or redistribute them.
If you own material that appears in the Service and want it credited or removed, email support@enchiridion.site with a description of the material and where it appears. We will review the request promptly and remove the material where the claim is valid.
11. Third-party services
The Service relies on third parties: Supabase (accounts, sync, storage), Flutterwave (payments), and Google Play (app distribution and updates). Links to third-party sites — including the print edition — are provided for convenience; we do not control them and are not responsible for their content or terms.
12. Availability, offline use, and changes to the Service
Previously loaded content works offline. Sign-in, syncing, purchases, and access validation need an internet connection. If the app cannot validate your access online for more than 7 consecutive days, access reverts to the free tier until the next successful check.
We may add, change, or withdraw features and content. Where we withdraw material from paid content, we will give reasonable notice. We do not guarantee uninterrupted or error-free operation, and we may suspend the Service for maintenance.
13. Your data
Our Privacy Policy explains what personal data we collect and why, and is part of these Terms. In summary: your account details, your study activity, and your notes and bookmarks are stored on your device and synced to your account. We never see your card or bank details.
You may request a copy, correction, or deletion of your personal data at any time by emailing support@enchiridion.site. Deleting your account removes your profile, study records, and access entitlements; it does not automatically refund an unused paid period, and you should cancel any auto-renewing subscription first (§6.3).
14. Suspension and termination
You may stop using the Service at any time and delete your account (§13).
We may suspend or terminate your account if you materially breach these Terms, if we are required to by law, or to protect the Service or other users. Where it is reasonable and lawful to do so, we will tell you why and give you a chance to put it right first. If we terminate your account without cause, we will refund the unused portion of any paid period.
15. Disclaimers
To the maximum extent permitted by law, the Service is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy, or non-infringement. We do not warrant that the content is complete, current, or clinically correct, nor that use of the Service will produce any particular exam or career outcome.
16. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law:
- we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, loss of profit, loss of data, exam results, study outcomes, or clinical decisions made with the help of the Service;
- our total liability to you for all claims in any 12-month period is limited to the amount you paid us in that period.
Nothing in these Terms limits liability that cannot lawfully be limited, including liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for fraud.
17. Indemnity
You agree to indemnify us against claims, losses, and reasonable costs arising from your breach of these Terms, your misuse of the Service, or content you upload.
18. Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms. The version number and effective date at the top of this page always identify the current version. For material changes — including anything affecting price, renewal, or your rights — we will notify you by email and in the app at least 30 days before they take effect, and, where the law requires it, ask you to accept the new version before you continue using the Service. Continued use after the effective date means you accept the updated Terms. Superseded versions are kept available on request.
19. Governing law and disputes
These Terms are governed by the laws of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, and the courts of Nigeria have jurisdiction. If you live elsewhere, this does not deprive you of the protection of mandatory consumer law in your country of residence.
Before starting formal proceedings, please contact support@enchiridion.site so we can try to resolve the matter directly.
20. General
If any provision of these Terms is held unenforceable, the rest continues in force. Our failure to enforce a provision is not a waiver of it. These Terms, with the Privacy Policy, are the entire agreement between us about the Service. You may not transfer your rights under these Terms; we may transfer ours to a successor of the business, without reducing your rights.
